Job description

School Caretaker/Site Assistant to work within a school in North Birmingham, required immediately.

As a caretaker/site assistant you will be responsible for:

• Unlocking and locking up the school site as well as individual departments
• Keeping the school grounds maintained and tidied
• General maintenance, DIY - fixing and putting furniture together, painting
• Assisting with any school deliveries
• Overlooking the school's health and safety, carrying out fire drills/tests
• Checking fire extinguishers and other health and safety aspects of the school
• Liaising with contractors and escorting them around the site
• Setting up classrooms and halls for assemblies and parents' evenings
• Gardening and outdoor site maintenance - lawn mowing, using a strimmer, weeding, litter picking
• General cleaning
• Basic plumbing

Requirements:

• 2 years of experience working within a school environment
• Experience doing basic plumbing and using power tools
• Holds an ENHANCED DBS disclosure

About You:

• Able to work well in a team
• Can work well individually
• Able to follow instructions
• Must be reliable

Hours: Working alternate shift patterns:

Week 1: 6am-2pm

Week 2: 10.30am-6.30pm
