We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Site Operative (Caretaker) to join our team at Brockmoor Primary School. This is a fantastic opportunity for a reliable and hardworking individual who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

About the Role: As our Site Operative, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the school premises. From ensuring the security and safety of the site to carrying out minor repairs, supervising cleaning staff, and supporting lettings, your work will directly contribute to the smooth operation of our school.

We’re looking for: :

  • Someone who works well with others and communicates effectively.
  • Is hardworking, dependable, and takes initiative.
  • Understands that the safety and safeguarding of pupils is paramount.
  • Maintains a professional attitude and takes pride in their work.
  • Is flexible and willing to support the school community, including occasional evening or weekend duties.


Key Responsibilities Include

  • Site security, maintenance, and cleaning supervision.
  • Health & safety compliance, including fire safety and water hygiene.
  • Supporting school events and lettings.
  • Grounds maintenance and minor repairs.


Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance and health & safety regulations.
  • Ability to carry out physical tasks and handle equipment safely.
  • Willingness to undertake training and professional development.
  • Enhanced DBS with barred list check (required).

Working Hours: Between 6:00am – 6:15pm (All Year Round)

Working Hours: This can be negotiated and would either be split shifts or a rotation of early starts/late finishes on a roster with the Site Manager.

Location: Brockmoor Primary School

Grade: 4 | Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children; therefore, the post is subject to medical clearance and an enhanced DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
