Job summary

Education Personnel is recruiting experienced Behaviour Mentors for Derbyshire schools to support primary and secondary students with emotional challenges and behaviour management. You will deliver targeted mentoring, establish boundaries, and use de-escalation techniques to maintain a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Behaviour Mentor, youth worker, or support specialist in educational or residential settings.
• Strong skills in conflict resolution, emotional regulation support and crisis management.
• Ability to quickly build trust with vulnerable students and act as a dependable role model.

Responsibilities

• Targeted mentoring: deliver one-to-one or small-group sessions for students at risk of exclusion.
• Behaviour management: establish fair boundaries to foster respect and positive choices.
• De-escalation and crisis support: apply advanced techniques to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Holistic engagement: employ practical or creative strategies to engage hard-to-reach pupils.
• Collaboration: work with teachers, SENCOs and multi-agency teams to track progress and support plans.
