Job summary

Behaviour Mentors (Primary & Secondary) in Derbyshire schools are seeking experienced mentors to support students with emotional challenges and behavioural needs. Roles include targeted mentoring, crisis support, and collaboration with school staff.

Positions are offered as full-time or part-time temp-to-perm contracts across Derbyshire, with immediate start and opportunities for long-term school placements.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Behaviour Mentor or similar role in education or residential settings.
• Skilled in conflict resolution, emotional support, and crisis management.
• DBS check and safeguarding training completed or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one or small-group mentoring to students at risk of exclusion.
• Establish fair, firm boundaries to promote respect and positive choices.
• Utilise de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Engage hard-to-reach pupils with practical or creative activities.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and multi-agency teams to support development plans.
