Job summary

Behaviour Mentors (Primary & Secondary) are recruiting across Derbyshire for experienced mentors, youth workers, or support professionals to transform the lives of children and young people in schools. Immediate start on flexible temp-to-perm contracts offered.

You will mentor students, support emotional challenges, manage behaviour, and work with teachers, SENCOs, and multi-agency teams to re-engage learners across primary and secondary settings in Derbyshire.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Behaviour Mentor or similar in educational or residential settings.
• Strong conflict resolution and crisis management skills.
• Ability to build trust with vulnerable students quickly.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one or small-group mentoring to students at risk of exclusion.
• Establish boundaries and promote positive behaviour.
• Use de-escalation and crisis support techniques to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Engage holistically with pupils across primary and secondary groups.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and multi-agency teams to support development plans.
