Job summary

Compass is recruiting a Mental Health Practitioner to deliver 1:1 emotional wellbeing interventions with children in schools across Central and West Lancashire. You will assess risk, deliver CBT-based interventions, and collaborate with schools and families to support emotional wellbeing.

Applicants should have EMHP/CYP IAPT or equivalent registration, maintain professional registration, and possess experience with mild-to-moderate mental health needs in educational settings.

Qualifications

• Core clinical or professional qualification such as EMHP, CYP IAPT, registered social worker or nurse
• Current professional registration, maintained throughout employment
• Experience delivering 1:1 and group therapeutic interventions with children and families
• Experience delivering therapy to mild to moderate mental health needs
• Liaising with schools and multi-agency partners

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 therapeutic emotional wellbeing interventions with children
• Provide 1:1 emotional wellbeing support to families
• Assess mental health, evaluate risk and take appropriate action
• Deliver evidence-based psychological interventions (e.g., CBT)
• Use approaches such as CBT or solution-focused techniques
• Support children and young people to self-manage mild mental health needs
• Build trusted relationships with schools, families and partners
• Provide early support within educational settings
• Apply safeguarding practices, including capacity and consent
