Job summary

Merlin Entertainments at Alton Towers Resort is seeking friendly front-of-house colleagues for Scarefest attractions. You’ll be the first contact for thousands of guests, ensuring safety and great service during a popular Halloween event.

Roles run August to early November 2026 and can be full- or part-time, including weekends. Responsibilities include guiding guests, managing queues, reporting issues to supervisors, and assisting with daily prep outside attractions.

Qualifications

• Flexible attitude and availability, weekend work required.
• Friendly and approachable with excellent communication skills.
• Enthusiastic with a positive guest experience.
• Comfortable working outdoors, including in darkness and at pace.
• Able to take responsibility and follow health and safety standards.
• Capable of working solo or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Work front of house at Scarefest attractions with emphasis on safety and efficiency.
• Engage with guests to deliver outstanding service.
• Assist guests with queries and ensure needs are met.
• Manage queues and crowd control.
• Report operational issues or incidents to the Scarefest Attractions Supervisor.
• Support daily presentation duties outside attractions.

Job description

Location: Alton Towers Resort

We are seeking open and friendly front of house colleagues to be the first point of contact our guests have at our Scarefest attractions. As a Scarefest Attraction Host you'll work in our Scarefest attractions providing great customer service to thousands of guests each day during our extremely popular Halloween event, Scarefest, whilst also ensuring health and safety procedures are followed. As part of this team, you’ll be on hand to ensure our guests have a great experience by providing a helping hand around the Resort, giving directions, and solving issues.

Contracts will run from August – early November 2026. The role can either be full or part time and will include Weekends.

Responsibilities

• Working front of house at our Scarefest attractions with a focus on safety and efficiency
• Engaging with a variety of guests to provide exceptional customer service
• Assisting with guest queries and ensuring their needs are met
• Manging queues and crowd control situations
• Reporting any operational issues or incidents to the Scarefest Attractions Supervisor
• Support in daily presentational duties outside of our attractions

Qualifications & Experience

• A Flexible attitude when it comes to availability, weekend working will be required
• Friendly and approachable with excellent communication skills
• Enthusiastic and willing to create a positive guest experience
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, outdoor environment , including in the dark
• Ready to take on responsibility and ensure health and safety standards are met
• Able to work by themselves and as part of a team

Pay Range

Compensation between GBP £8.00/Hr.-GBP £12.71/Hr.
