Job summary

UK Power Networks (Operations) Ltd in the Chatham area is recruiting an Ops Telecoms Technician for permanent employment. The role focuses on on-site SCADA and telecoms work, with distributed working options and a salary of 56,576 per year plus a 3% bonus.

You will undertake safety procedures, install and maintain telecommunications gear, and support the network incident response with specialist equipment. A driving licence is required and a DBS check may be necessary.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of SCADA networks and real-time control systems.
• Understanding of inter-tripping and protection concepts.
• City and Guilds 2322 in Electronic and Electrical theory is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high safety standards and follow procedures.
• Wiring and SCADA/comms work on site, including modifications and repairs.
• Upgrade operational SCADA equipment and test interfaces.
• Construct Telecontrol Equipment Cubicles and other SCADA gear.
• Carry and calibrate testing equipment and ensure stock is available.
