Job summary

National Grid Electricity Distribution in Tipton is seeking a Telecoms Operator to maintain and inspect our telecoms network. You will work largely on-site, sometimes away from the depot, and will perform supervision of contractors while supporting engineers with installation tasks.

The role requires clear communication, reliability, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. You will undergo full training on the systems used and may need Security Clearance, with UK residence requirements.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication with customers and team members.
• Reliable, well organised and able to work independently as part of a small team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspection and maintenance activities across our communications sites, including minor repairs where possible.
• Supervise third party contractors as required.
• Support communication engineers with installation work.
• Provide support to National Grid Telecoms teams as needed.
