Envision Energy in the United Kingdom seeks a dynamic graduate to join our Energy Storage team as a Data Engineer focused on Network and SCADA support for BESS projects across Europe.

The role centers on system configuration, data analysis, testing, and commissioning, ensuring reliable site data for engineering performance analysis while supporting GDPR and data requirements. Some travel within Europe is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Networking, or related field, or graduating in 2026/27.
• Linux proficiency with CLI, file system, systemd, package management, and config files.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing and NAT.
• Experience with Linux tools: ip, ss, tcpdump, iptables/nftables, netplan/NetworkManager.
• SCADA/EMS concepts: tags, polling rates, alarms, historians, and basic HMI design.
• Basic scripting in Bash and/or Python.
• Fluent English; German or French a plus.
• Travel to project sites in Europe 10–25% of time.

Responsabilités

• Deploy and maintain network configurations (VLANs, IP schemes, routing, NAT, firewall rules) on Linux-based servers within BESS sites.
• Configure and troubleshoot switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN tunnels.
• Automate repetitive deployment tasks using programming tools.
• Support FAT, SAT and site commissioning remotely and on site; verify communication paths and fix connectivity issues.
• Maintain accurate network documentation including topology diagrams and IP plans.
• Help apply OT cybersecurity practices per IEC 62443 and customer/TSO requirements.
• Collaborate with SCADA developers, commissioning engineers, EPC contractors, and customer IT teams.
• Configure and maintain SCADA and local EMS systems: tag mapping, scaling, alarms, trends, historian points.
• Set up and validate protocol gateways and data links between PCS, BMS, HVAC, meters, and site SCADA/EMS.
• Support data acquisition, archiving, and reporting—historian configuration, data extraction, dashboards, and reports.
• Manage SCADA software versions, configuration backups and restoration procedures.
