Job summary

National Grid seeks an Asset & Display Engineer to maintain and evolve the SCADA system for the England and Wales electricity transmission network. Based in Warwick, you will manage asset data, network models and displays, coordinating changes with IT and operations to meet regulatory obligations.

You will engage in data validation, system testing, and changes through the Digital Commissioning framework, while supporting future SCADA system enhancements and data quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experienced in database management and data migrations.
• Experience with hierarchical data sets in utility networks.
• Familiarity with IEC 101 & GI74 protocols and related data sets is beneficial.
• Experience working with ICCP is beneficial.
• Data quality assessment, cleansing and enhancement.
• Knowledge of Master Data Management and secure data handling/change management.
• Asset management experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver ET SCADA asset databases, network modelling and display changes.
• Support CAF and Area of Responsibility management.
• Support policy and process updates.
• Resolve real-time asset databases, network model and display issues with control room staff and IT.
• Maintain real-time calculations supporting electricity transmission operations.
• Facilitate emulation of telemetry for testing with ET Operations and third parties.
• Ensure data validity and alignment across SCADA interfaces with stakeholders.
• Provide training on SCADA asset databases, network models, and displays.
• Coordinate with NESO for asset database and system changes.
• Work with SCADA replacement team to define and implement future support capabilities.
• Support interface changes to ensure timely delivery and data quality.
