Job summary

Us3 Consulting is seeking a Power System Network Model Engineer to work on SCADA telemetry and mapping within a UK-based environment. The role involves hybrid work with two to three days on-site for SC cleared candidates, or five days on-site for SC eligible candidates, while remaining UK-based.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience modelling transmission networks in an EMS, familiarity with CIM IEC 61970/61968, and strong skills in SQL, XML, and Python.

Qualifications

• Experience modelling electricity transmission networks within an EMS.
• Modelling substations, busbars, circuit breakers, transformers, transmission lines, and generators.
• Network topology, connectivity modelling and relationships between electrical assets.
• SCADA telemetry and mapping live data to network equipment.
• Experience with GE PowerOn, GE XA/21, or comparable transmission EMS platforms.
• Understanding of state estimation, power flow, and contingency analysis.
• Experience working for transmission operators, electricity utilities, or grid control centres.
• CIM standards: IEC 61970 and IEC 61968.
• SQL, XML, and Python.
• Network model migration, commissioning, and system upgrades.

Clearance: SC cleared or eligible

Working arrangement: SC cleared: hybrid, two to three days onsite. SC eligible: onsite five days per week. Must remain UK-based.

Essential skills:

• Electricity transmission network modelling within an Energy Management System (EMS).
• Modelling substations, busbars, circuit breakers, transformers, transmission lines, and generators.
