Job summary

National Grid is recruiting an Asset & Display Engineer to maintain the SCADA system for the England and Wales electricity transmission network, based from the Warwick office. You will manage asset databases, network models and displays, and coordinate system changes with NESO, ET Operations and IT to ensure safe, secure operation and regulatory compliance.

The role supports change projects and data interfaces across control centres and field engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience in database management and data migrations.
• Experience with hierarchical data sets in utility networks is beneficial.
• Experience with IEC 101 and GI74 data sets is beneficial.
• Experience with ICCP interfaces is beneficial.
• Knowledge of data quality assessment, cleansing and enhancement.
• Knowledge of Master Data Management and secure data handling/change management methodologies.
• Experience in asset management.

Responsibilities

• Deliver ET SCADA asset databases, network modelling and display changes.
• Support Change Authority Forum (CAF) and Area of Responsibility (AOR) management.
• Support policy and process updates.
• Resolve real-time asset databases, network model and display issues with control room staff, ET Operations, and IT.
• Maintain real-time calculations supporting the electricity transmission system.
• Facilitate emulation of telemetry for system testing with ET Operations and third parties.
• Perform data validity checks for SCADA interfaces and resolve data misalignment.
• Provide continuous training on SCADA asset databases, network model and displays.
• Coordinate with NESO for asset database and systemChange coordination.
• Work with SCADA replacement team to define and implement support capabilities.
• Assist with internal/external interface changes to ensure delivery of new system and data quality.
