Job summary

South West Water Limited is seeking an OT Technician on a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Exeter. The role supports the Alarm Rationalisation Project, enhancing alarms and telemetry across wastewater assets.

You will configure the Regional SCADA Telemetry System, prioritise alarms, maintain templates, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver accurate operational information and improved site performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in IT or Operational Technology (OT) environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Confident using Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of SQL Server desirable.
• Ability to manage changing priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to health, safety, wellbeing and information security.

Responsibilities

• Implement telemetry configuration changes to support the Alarm Rationalisation Project.
• Configure and optimise telemetry signals, alarms, system logic and sequence charts in the Regional SCADA Telemetry System.
• Coordinate and maintain a schedule of configuration changes with project stakeholders.
• Ensure telemetry data and alarms deliver clear, accurate and actionable information to operational teams.
• Develop and maintain configuration templates and standardised ways of working.
• Provide regular updates on requests and change progress.
• Follow established change management, governance and information security processes.
• Support testing activities and identify opportunities to improve processes and system performance.
