Job summary

Tech Bar Specialist role on a contract basis is based onsite in Reading. The candidate will deliver hands-on support for Windows endpoints, Microsoft 365 and related identity issues, acting as a senior escalation point and mentoring junior staff.

SC Clearance is a mandatory requirement for this role, with responsibilities spanning incident resolution, proactive remediation and strong stakeholder communication in a secure environment.

Qualifications

• Typically 3+ years in Service Desk, desktop or End User Compute roles.
• Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 suite.
• Experience with ITSM tools and incident/request management.
• Ability to troubleshoot independently and escalate with precise details.
• Experience coaching or mentoring junior analysts.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on walk-up and deskside support in a busy onsite environment.
• Resolve complex user, device and application issues; act as senior escalation point.
• Support VIP and senior stakeholders with calm ownership and timely communication.
• Configure and provision end-user devices per security and provisioning workflows.
• Maintain ITSM records and ensure walk-up work is traceable.
