Job summary

North Northamptonshire Council Libraries is seeking a Saturday Assistant to join the LibraryPlus team at Rushden Library, delivering friendly customer service and helping with IT tasks to enable self-service for the community.

You will welcome diverse customers, assist with events and activities, enrol new members, and promote volunteering opportunities while upholding our standards of presentation and behaviour.

Qualifications

• Experience working as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills with ability communicate with a wide variety of people.
• Confident IT Skills.
• Enthusiasm with a flexible, positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide first point of customer service for a diverse range of customers and enquiries.
• Assist customers with self-service and other IT systems.
• To support activities and services for the whole community including those for families with children.
• To be knowledgeable and effective in the use of a variety of IT systems to: Process all sales transactions accurately. Enrol new members. Be competent in the use of the Library Management System. Assist customers with the NNC website and other online services.
• Promote volunteering opportunities.
• Ensure the Quality Standards for Presentation and Behaviour which contribute to the customer care ethos are met at all times.
