Job summary
Cadent is seeking an SAP Functional Manager to lead the SAP capability, drive strategy and manage delivery across multiple workstreams. You will build an in-house SAP functional capability, ensuring solutions meet business needs and operate reliably in a 24/7 environment.
You will lead a high‑performing team, shape SAP roadmaps, coordinate with suppliers and stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement to maximise value from SAP systems across Cadent’s operations.
Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- SAP professional qualification in a relevant field.
- Extensive experience working in SAP environments, ideally within complex or regulated organisations.

As an SAP Functional Manager at Cadent, you’ll play a key role in leading the SAP Functional team, shaping how we design, deliver and support SAP solutions across the organisation. This is a leadership role at the heart of our application management and transformation capability, ensuring that SAP systems are aligned to business priorities and delivering maximum value.
You’ll be responsible for building and managing an in‑house SAP functional capability, overseeing development, configuration and delivery across multiple workstreams. Working closely with delivery teams, architects, suppliers and stakeholders, you’ll ensure solutions are designed to meet business needs, delivered to a high standard and supported effectively in operation.

- Strategic Ownership – Own and develop the SAP Functional roadmap, ensuring alignment to business strategy and outcomes.
- Leadership & Team Development – Lead, mentor and grow a high‑performing SAP Functional team, supporting career development and wellbeing.
- End‑to‑End Delivery Oversight – Oversee SAP development, configuration and integration activities across multiple programmes and workstreams.
- High‑Impact Stakeholder Engagement – Work with delivery teams, architects and senior stakeholders to shape solutions and priorities.
- Operational Excellence – Ensure SAP systems meet performance, availability and SLA expectations across a 24/7 operational environment.
- Continuous Improvement – Drive best practice, improve processes and enhance system functionality to deliver better outcomes for the business.
You’re an experienced SAP leader with strong functional knowledge and the ability to operate across strategy and delivery.
- Deep knowledge across SAP modules such as FICO, SD, CRM/CX, PM, EWM, MM, HR/Payroll and Procurement
- Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA environments and connected systems
- Proven experience leading and managing SAP functional teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and delivery commitments
- Experience overseeing third‑party delivery and integrations
- Experience shaping SAP strategies and roadmaps aligned to business needs
- Strong understanding of how SAP supports operational and commercial outcomes
- Knowledge of SAP‑connected systems and integrations (e.g. ESRI, Click/NextGen)
- Awareness of cloud environments such as AWS and integration platforms like SAP CPI
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability
