Job summary

Indium in London is seeking a Salesforce Core Tech Lead to own the technical direction of our Salesforce Core platform (Service Cloud, OMS, Experience Cloud) and the shared data model. This hands-on lead will set architecture, review PRs, own release quality, and guide two mid‑level Salesforce engineers daily.

• 7+ years Salesforce development with at least 2 years in a lead or architect capacity owning a Salesforce org end to end.
• Deep, hands-on Service Cloud experience: Case routing, Omni-Channel, Knowledge, Entitlements and Milestones, CTI integrations.
• Expert Apex (triggers, async, batch, queueable) with LWC and Flow; strong integration experience and governance.
• Proven ownership of a Salesforce release pipeline: Git, SFDX / sf CLI, CI/CD, and test coverage discipline.
• Track record performing code reviews and maintaining a high quality bar; mentoring engineers.

Job description

• We are hiring a Salesforce Core Tech Lead to own the technical direction of our Salesforce Core platform (Service Cloud, OMS, Experience Cloud, and the shared data model underneath them).
• This is a hands-on lead role. You will set the architecture, review and merge every PR that touches Core, own release quality, and lead two mid-level Salesforce engineers’ day to day.
• You will work closely with the Commerce Cloud lead, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders in CX and Operations across NA and EMEA.

What you will do - Technical leadership and architecture

• Own the technical architecture for Salesforce Core: object model, sharing and security model, automation strategy (Flow vs Apex), integration patterns, and org limits.
• Design end-to-end solutions for Service Cloud (Case management, Omni-Channel, Knowledge, Entitlements, Service Console, Einstein/Agentforce where it earns its place) and OMS (order lifecycle, fulfilment, returns, payments).
• Define and enforce standards for declarative vs programmatic solutions, naming, error handling, test coverage, and documentation.
• Evaluate managed packages and AppExchange solutions against custom build; make and document the call.
• Partner with the Commerce Cloud lead on the SFCC to Core order and customer data flows.

Delivery and code quality

• Perform code and configuration reviews for all Core changes (Apex, LWC, Flows, metadata). You are the approver on PRs.
• Write production code yourself: Apex, LWC, Flow, integration services. Expect roughly 40 to 50 percent of your time hands-on.
• Own the release process for Core: sandbox strategy, Git branching, CI/CD (SFDX / sf
• CLI, Bitbucket or GitHub pipelines), deployment validation and rollback.
• Own change control and audit evidence for Core in line with SOX requirements (user
• Lead root cause analysis on production incidents and drive fixes to closure.

Team leadership

• Lead two mid-level Salesforce engineers: work allocation, technical coaching, growth plans, and performance feedback.
• Participate in sprint planning, estimation and technical refinement for the Core backlog with the Product Owner.
• Grow the team's capability in Flow design, Apex patterns, test automation and release discipline.
• Be the technical point of contact for CX, Operations, IT and vendor partners on anything Core.

What you bring - Required

• 7+ years of Salesforce development with at least 2 years in a lead or architect capacity owning a Salesforce org end to end.
• Deep, hands-on Service Cloud experience: Case routing and Omni-Channel, Service Console, Knowledge, Entitlements and Milestones, CTI or telephony integration, Experience Cloud portals.
• Expert Apex (triggers, async, batch, queueable, governor limits), LWC and Flow. You know when a Flow is the wrong answer and can explain why.
• Strong integration experience: REST and SOAP, Platform Events, Change Data Capture, middleware (MuleSoft or similar), and external system patterns such as ERP, payment providers, and shipping carriers.
• Proven ownership of a Salesforce release pipeline: Git, SFDX / sf CLI, scratch orgs or sandboxes, CI/CD, and test coverage discipline.
• Track record performing code reviews and holding a team to a quality bar.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers, including giving direct feedback.
• Comfortable working across US and UK time zones with distributed stakeholders.

Strongly preferred

• Salesforce Order Management (OMS) experience, including order lifecycle, fulfilment orchestration, and payments.
• Salesforce certifications: Platform Developer II, Service Cloud Consultant, Application or System Architect track.
• Experience working alongside a Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) team and the data flows between B2C Commerce and Core.
• Experience in a SOX-regulated environment: change management, segregation of duties, audit evidence.
• Consumer products, retail, or DTC ecommerce background.
• Exposure to Agentforce or AI-assisted service tooling.
