Sales Support Manager - Lighting and Controls

THE ROLE: Working in the head office in Basingstoke, your role as Internal Sales Support will involve daily interactions with wholesales, and electrical contractor customers who are in process of ordering, need quotations, have technical questions or some customer service issues. You will be juggling a mix of pro-active sales calls, call handling with existing customers, technical training and product info calls as well as emails, quotations and Teams meetings. This is a perfect role for someone who has worked in electrical wholesales, hand on with electrical or technical products or has done an entry level role in customer service, internal sales or sales support. You will be coached and supported by an experienced member of the internal team and full product training will be given. This is brilliant way into a growing lighting company and a potential springboard into field sales or technical operations.. Key to success in this role is a positive, outgoing manner on the phone, strong organisation skills, good written skill for emails and quotes and also the aptitude to take on a large product portfolio within the lighting and controls sector. You will also have regular phone and Teams contact with the field sales team so good relationship building skills and communication is vital.

They are well known within lighting controls and wireless solutions so this will be a large part of their offering. Great focus on sustainability and future thinking innovations. Good support from technical, design and back office teams to ensure success. An exciting time to join as they are expanding their team in 2025. The office has parking, canteen and lots of supportive team members.

We are looking for individuals who meet the following criteria:

·6-12 months or more working in either office sales, customer service, branch management or field sales

·Could have worked in a hands on technical environment such as electrical engineering apprenticeship or project estimator or has had a technical support role in a different company.

·Happy building relationships with customers and team members, working over the phone and on Microsoft Teams. Interested in sales and working more closely with sales team.

·A consultative, driven and professional candidate who wants to learn and have a career.

·Understanding of electrical or technical drawings/technical aptitude is desirable but not essential.

Salary: £30,000 -40,000 basic salary, plus OTE, 25 days holiday, pension scheme
