Job summary

Edwards & Pearce is seeking a Sales Manager to lead the sales office and manage UK and European sales through agents, distributors and direct channels. This role covers pricing, terms and relationships across multi-country markets and requires hands-on collaboration with production and technical teams.

The ideal candidate has export sales experience, strong negotiation, and the ability to work under pressure, with occasional travel to overseas markets.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are pleased to be working with a market leader in the manufacturing sector, due to an internal promotion they are actively seeking a new Sales Manager.

THE ROLE

The purpose of this role is to manage the sales office (one direct report - Export Sales Administrator) and to look after the sale of our clients products in the UK and several European countries through official agents, distributors and direct sales.

The role is to maintain existing business and look for areas of growth. The role would require the candidate to be very much hands on working closely with both production and technical departments.

When required the role would also be required to cover the Export Sales Administrator to cover holidays, sickness and when we are very busy. This role requires the issuing of Invoices and Export Paperwork.

The Sales Manager job covers the UK , Spain, Portugal, Germany, France, Switzerland, Hungary, Scandinavia and Egypt. with customers receiving on average at least one visit per year. The candidate would be the main contact for these areas responsible for the negotiation of pricing, payment terms, delivery terms etc….

Travel would normally be end of the year to discussing pricing and volume for the following year and expected to take no more than 4-6 weeks. Travel outside of this time cannot be ruled out.

THE CANDIDATE

The candidate would be required to generate a budget annually and produce a monthly sales report.

Ideally educated to degree level but not essential.

Having export sales experience is a must and preferably a technical sales background.

Proven customer contact and interaction experience.

SAP knowledge is preferred, but not essential.

French, German or Spanish would be an advantage, but not essential.

The candidate must be a driven proactive individual who can perform under pressure and deliver results in a team and on a personal level.

You must feel at home on the shop floor as well as holding meetings with important clients. The candidate must be able to work as part of a close knit team and also be comfortable travelling alone in foreign countries.

Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing and inter-personal skills.

Proven commercial awareness.

Numerate with the ability to analyse data and then formulate and execute resulting action plans.

Full clean driving license.
