Job description

A manufacturer and seller of high-quality drilling and cutting tools is currently looking for a Sales Manager to join their UK team based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.
The ideal candidate will have experience in B2B or B2C sales within a relevant field, and people management experience.

TYPE: Full-time, permanent
SALARY: 40-50K, depending on the experience
LOCATION: Stevenage, UK (typically field-based with 1–2 days in the office per week)

SALES MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Manage and lead sales team (2 field reps + 1 office rep)
  2. Set and monitor call/visit targets and conversion rates
  3. Develop sales strategies with the GM, track KPIs
  4. Train team in sales and product knowledge (with GM support)
  5. Maintain relationships with key clients; visiting 10–15 clients, twice a year
  6. Provide sales forecasts and performance reports to HQ
  7. Support lead generation with GM and marketing
  8. Attend relevant shows and represent the company externally

SALES MANAGER IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Essential
  1. 3+ years in Sales Management (team leadership, performance tracking)
  2. 5+ years in B2B/B2C sales (contractors, construction firms, distributors)
  3. 3+ years with CRM systems, Excel, or sales analytics
  4. Business development & account growth experience

Desirable/Preferred
  1. Experience in industrial tools, diamond tools, or construction products
  2. Understanding of feature/benefit selling, not just price
  3. Degree in Sales, Business, or Marketing
  4. Technical knowledge of diamond tools

Personality
  1. Self-motivated, proactive, professional
  2. Strong leadership and communication skills
  3. Team-oriented, adaptable, and commercially aware
  4. Problem-solving and negotiation ability
