Job summary

allpay Limited is hiring a Sales Ledger Controller in Hereford to join the Finance Operations Team. You will oversee sales ledger processes, credit control leadership, and payroll processing while maintaining strong financial controls and reporting.

The role supports continuous improvement within finance, with flexible hours around core times and collaboration with auditors and external stakeholders. AAT or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in an accountancy or finance environment with sales ledger or credit control exposure.
• AAT qualified or equivalent accounting experience is preferred.
• Experience supervising or leading a small team and driving accuracy.
• Strong understanding of sales ledger processes, payroll admin and controls.
• Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily banking activities, posting receipts and bank reconciliations.
• Generate and submit Direct Debit files and monthly payments.
• Maintain client accounts including setup and direct debit details.
• Complete month-end sales ledger activities and balance sheet controls.
• Ensure sales ledger procedures are documented and updated.
• Support process improvements and efficiency projects.
• Lead invoicing-related projects and system developments.
• Support the annual external audit with information responses.
• Prepare payroll information and adjustments for review.
• Lead and develop the Credit Control Team through coaching.
