Mitchell Maguire is seeking a Sales Engineer - Lighting in the North London and Northern Home Counties area. The role focuses on field sales of LED lighting ranges to electrical contractors and electricians, with project-based opportunities from £5,000 to £500,000 and a £500,000 new business revenue target.

The candidate will typically stimulate demand via electrical wholesale networks, provide tender and submittal support, and work with branches to convert lighting opportunities.

Qualifications

• Electrical field sales experience, lighting preferred.
• Experience selling to electrical contractors/electricians.
• Experience managing lighting projects from survey to sales.
• Strong technical capability.
• Local electrical contractor knowledge is a plus.
• Good knowledge of electrical wholesalers.
• Familiar with CRM and Microsoft 365.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Stimulate demand with electrical contractors and electricians.
• Sell a range of LED lighting products.
• Handle lighting projects from £5,000 to £500,000.
• Aim for £500,000 new business revenue.
• Support wholesale branches on lighting project enquiries.
• Identify opportunities with electrical wholesale branches.
• Survey sites where necessary.
• Ensure tenders, quotes and submittals are accurate and progressed.

Job Title: Project Sales Engineer - LED Lighting

Area to be covered: North London and Northern Home Counties

Remuneration: £50,000-£65,000 Neg. + 1% Commission

The role of the Trade Account Manager - LED Lighting will involve:

• Field sales position selling a manufactured and distributed range of LED lighting including; downlights, versatile battens, canopy, exterior wall, ground lights, hazardous, floodlights, emergency, weatherproofing and accessories etc.
• 75% of your time stimulating demand with electrical contractors and electricians
• Lighting project based sales from £5,000-£500,000
• £500,000 new business revenue target
• Remaining 25% back-selling through established electrical wholesale dealer network
• Typical projects include; education, emergency services, healthcare, industrial, warehousing, office, residential, retail & leisure, sports etc.
• Survey site installations where necessary
• Ensure tenders, quotes and technical submittals are accurate and progressed
• Support for electrical wholesale branches on lighting project enquiries
• Identify opportunities by working with electrical wholesale branch network

The ideal applicant will be a Trade Account Manager - LED Lighting with:

• Electrical field sales background, lighting preferred
• Must have sold into electrical contractors/ electricians
• Experience of managing small to large lighting projects through survey, design, tender and sales stages
• Strong technical capability
• Ideally with local electrical contractor knowledge on patch
• Good knowledge of electrical wholesalers
• Familiar with CRM, Microsoft 365 software
• Full driving licence
