What is Embat?

Embat is one of the fastest growing startups in Europe. Embat was born in 2021 to design the best way for medium and large sized enterprises to plan their finances and monitor their cash flow in real time.

Our mission is to build a product (SaaS) that leverages technology and excellent client experience to empower our clients to make the best business decisions by accessing the best financial information, 100x more efficiently than using Excel files.

What are we looking for?

Embat is committed to becoming a leading Pan-European embedded finance player, and the UK region is crucial to achieving this goal. With its robust economy and significant potential in the underserved mid-market segment, the UK, along with DACH, has the potential to become one of Embat's most important markets in the near term.

The Director of Sales, UK will play a pivotal role in driving this expansion, with primary responsibility for achieving new business revenue targets and spearheading the region’s growth. This includes acquiring high-value clients and boosting annual recurring revenue (ARR). Reporting directly to Antonio Berga, Embat's co-founder, this role will be instrumental in executing the company’s global strategy, building and leading a dedicated team, prioritizing key market opportunities, and serving as the face of Embat in the region.

This position offers a unique opportunity for significant career growth within Embat. While it does not initially include a VP title, the direct reporting line to the co-CEO opens the door for potential promotion to VP of EMEA as the company continues to scale its leadership team.

The Director of Sales will be key to establishing Embat's presence in the English market, with the opportunity to expand their influence across Europe as Embat grows its footprint.

What will you do?
  1. Drive regional growth by securing high-value clients and increasing ARR to align with Embat’s ambitious growth targets.
  2. Deliver immediate impact by scheduling and conducting a targeted number of client pitches showcasing the initiative and capability to independently generate new business opportunities.
  3. Offer weekly feedback to the Product team, ensuring that region-specific requirements for the UK market—especially in Treasury Management Systems (TMS) and Payments—are promptly identified, addressed, and integrated into the product roadmap.
  4. Develop a successful sales team modeled after the proven structure in Spain, consisting of 6 Account Executives, 3 Sales Development Representatives, 2 Partnership Executives, 3 Marketing and Content professionals, 1 Pre-Sales Specialist, and 2 Customer Success Managers.
  5. Formulate and implement comprehensive sales strategies that drive revenue growth. Leverage inbound leads while pioneering outbound sales initiatives and partnerships agreements to expand market penetration.
  6. Define sales target segments, conduct capacity planning, design territories, set quotas, plan headcount, and implement strategies to enhance internal sales effectiveness.
  7. Play an integral role in shaping the company’s direction and ensuring the successful execution of strategic initiatives as a key member of the Management Team.
  8. Become Embat’s image in the region, representing Embat in social and corporate events, fairs, speeches, etc.

With a strong track record in high-growth environments, particularly in SaaS or FinTech, they bring extensive experience in developing and executing comprehensive go-to-market strategies, with a focus on both Mittelstand and Enterprise clients in the UK region.

This candidate has a proven ability to successfully launch and scale businesses in the UK market. They possess exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate their team to achieve ambitious goals. Energetic, driven, and passionate about working in a fast-paced tech startup, they thrive in dynamic environments and are eager to contribute to Embat's success.

You’ll be our ideal candidate if:
  1. You bring to the table experience leading a sales team of 5-10 members, with a strong track record of driving performance and achieving targets.
  2. Demonstrate success in selling complex products to CXO, ideally CFO, with a history of closing contracts valued between €30-70K annually.
  3. Have deep expertise in selling to the Mittelstand and mid-market Enterprises, with a nuanced understanding of this crucial market segment.
  4. Generate and win deals to showcase “what good looks like”.
  5. Strong personal stability, a proactive approach to responsibility, and an entrepreneurial mindset, with the ambition to develop and execute a long-term strategy for the UK region.
  6. Have exceptional public speaking skills, capable of representing Embat at industry events and serving as the company’s ambassador in the country.
  7. Based in the United Kingdom (ideally London), with a commitment to establishing and growing a local team.
  8. Willingness to travel frequently to Madrid, Spain, especially during the initial onboarding period, to gain a deep understanding of Embat’s culture and operations.
