Job description

The Group: Morningstar’s Business Development group is responsible for helping our institutional clients strengthen their businesses with the goal of providing better outcomes for investors. The group primarily serves the following client segments: Banking, Insurance, Investment Management, and Wealth Management.

The Role: Morningstar's Business Development Team seeks a highly motivated individual to perform a Junior Sales role (Sales Associate) focused on growing revenue and building relationships with both existing clients and new prospects. The successful candidate will deepen our footprint within key market segments by focusing on increasing adoption of Morningstar’s solutions, including Morningstar Direct, Data, Enterprise Components, and Reporting Solutions, to address pressing workflow challenges. This role covers opportunities in the UK, based in our London office.

Responsibilities:

  1. Exceed sales targets.
  2. Identify client needs and collaborate with internal teams to determine optimal solutions.
  3. Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders.
  4. Discover new business opportunities within existing accounts.
  5. Implement strategies to maintain and grow adoption of Morningstar solutions.
  6. Conduct product demonstrations and understand product capabilities and benefits.
  7. Forecast and identify opportunities within key business groups.
  8. Negotiate and close new business deals.
  9. Create growth plans for existing accounts.
  10. Record daily activities in our CRM system, Salesforce.

Requirements:

  1. At least 2 years of account management or in-person client service experience in finance and investment industries.
  2. Proven track record of exceeding targets.
  3. Excellent networking skills.
  4. Organized individual capable of building long-term client relationships.
  5. Strong leadership, planning, and time-management skills.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver persuasive presentations.
  7. Charismatic personality that can easily engage others.
  8. Ability to understand complex investment requirements.
  9. A passion for Morningstar and the investment industry.
  10. Degree or equivalent in a financial or analytical discipline preferred.
