Job summary

IKEA Croydon is hiring Sales Assistants to deliver excellent customer service and help customers find the right products for their needs. You’ll work as part of a team to create a positive shopping experience while supporting sales and store operations.

The role involves handling planning appointments, maintaining attractive displays, and assisting customers across 9am–10pm shifts. The position offers a competitive hourly rate of £14.80, with 12 hours per week across 3 days, including evenings

• Maintain clean, stocked, priced, and well-presented areas to aid shopping
• Plan customer visits with 30–40 minute personalised planning appointments using IKEA tools
• Safely handle heavy products using ladders and pump trucks

As a Sales Assistant at IKEA, you will provide excellent customer service, help customers find the right products for their needs, and maintain a well-organised, attractive showroom. You'll work as part of a team to create a positive shopping experience while supporting sales and store operations.

WHAT WE OFFER

• The Start Date of employment will be: 11th October 2026.
• Competitive hourly rate of £14.80 per hour.
• The available working hours are as follows; 12 Hours, working 3 days per week including evenings and working 3 in 4 weekends. We can also explore weekend only contracts.
• Working hours are between 9am and 10pm.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

• You provide an inspirational shopping experience for our customers by actively approaching them to identify their needs and advising them on the best solutions for their life at home.
• You are always enthusiastic about the range, curious to learn the stories behind the products and their design.
• You support maximising sales by ensuring the areas are clean, fully stocked, all products priced, well presented and easy to shop.
• Planning – Supporting customers through 30-40 minute personalised planning appointments using IKEA digital planning tools to create functional, well-designed home solutions.
• Manual handling heavy products safely, using ladders and pump trucks.
