Job summary

IKEA Exeter is looking for a Sales Assistant to welcome customers and help them find what they need, delivering reliable service in a busy store environment.

You'll be part of a team that keeps the store looking its best, while learning about products, pricing, and stock management. The role offers a 24-hour schedule across 4 days with evening shifts and weekends, with a £13.45 hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-moving, customer-facing environment is an advantage.
• Confident using computers and digital tools, with the ability to learn IKEA systems quickly.
• You have a customer-first mindset, making customers feel valued and supported.
• You take initiative, make informed choices, and manage daily tasks efficiently.
• Prioritise and organise work with great attention to detail.
• Ready to safely lift, condense, and replenish stock for busy periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide an inspirational shopping experience by approaching customers to identify needs and advise on solutions.
• Motivated by the range and curious to learn the stories behind products and their design.
• Support sales by keeping area clean, stocked, fully priced, well presented and easy to shop.
• Manual handling and heavy lifting of stock as required.

We at IKEA Exeter are looking to welcome Sales Assistants to the sales team!

Join our team as a Sales Assistant and be the welcoming face that helps customers find exactly what they need! This is a busy role perfect for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives during busy shifts, and takes pride in delivering reliable customer service. You'll play a key part in creating a welcoming shopping experience, offering product advice, and keeping the store looking its best. If you're motivated, consistent, and ready to grow your skills in retail, we’d be keen to hear from you!

WHAT WE OFFER

• The Start Date of employment will be 5th of September 2026.
• Competitive hourly rate of £13.45 per hour.
• 24 Hours working 4 days over 7 including 3 weekends out of 4, with availability to work 3 evening per week (3pm-9pm).
• All contracts require availability between the hours of 08:00am - 21:00pm

• You support sales by ensuring your area of responsibility is clean, fully stocked, all products priced, well presented and easy to shop.
