Sales Account Manager - Special Delivery Services
Competitive salary, plus £4,200 car allowance or £3,700 cash equivalent, private healthcare, 18% annual bonus potential, company pension scheme with highly competitive contribution rates and generous annual leave offering of 27.5 days, plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days after 10 years’ service.

Location: This is a remote based role with the expectation to visit customer sites and Royal Mail Group sites as and when the business requires. Due to the nature of the role, a Full valid UK Driving Licence is required.

Are you a dynamic and experienced B2B sales account manager looking for an exciting new challenge? We are seeking a talented individual to join our team and take charge of managing the contractual, commercial, and operational relationships with our key clients in Special Delivery Services. This role spans across core and new markets, including banking, government, healthcare, and retail.

About the role

As Special Delivery Services Sales Account Manager, you will:

  • Drive Business Growth: Identify, prioritise, and convert customer business opportunities to maximise income, forecasting, margin, and cost savings. Own the sales cycle from pitches to contract awards.
  • Analyse Data: Utilise large data sets and sales metrics to enhance quality, revenue, products, and SLAs.
  • Manage Complex Issues: Oversee critical issues such as new site/service take-ons, contract variations, peak trading, industrial relations, and business continuity planning.
  • Improve Commercial Outcomes: Minimize contractual penalties and deliver tangible commercial improvements.
  • Ensure Service Excellence: Liaise across Specialist Delivery Operation Services to enhance service quality, cost savings, and operational efficiencies.

About You

As an experienced sales account manager, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • B2B Sales and Account Management: Delivery of contract SLAs and KPIs
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to establish rapport with stakeholders at all levels and lead and run weekly/monthly/quarterly customer meetings.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of special delivery services or similar same-day delivery operations.
  • Commercial Acumen: Curious and commercially minded, with the ability to challenge and question for commercial benefit.
  • Analytical Skills: Demonstrable forecasting, reporting, and analytical skills to drive performance improvement.
  • Planning and Flexibility: Strong planning skills and adaptability to change.
  • Creative Problem-Solving: Ability to find commercial solutions to challenging problems.
  • Numeracy and Literacy: Excellent commercial acumen, able to analyse and understand MI and performance metrics and present to internal and external stakeholders. Excel skills are essential.
