Job description

As we seek to develop our already outstanding school, we are looking for motivated, ambitious, and highly skilled individuals who wish to enter teaching.

We are offering a rare opportunity for a paid position at our school, where you will 'learn to teach on the job' in supportive and stimulating environments. Additionally, you will have a weekly training day delivered by our outstanding and experienced practitioners at Debden Park High School.

Debden Park High School is a heavily oversubscribed Academy that consistently achieves outstanding outcomes for its students.

We lead a family of schools as part of the Kemnal Academies Trust, providing exceptional career progression and bespoke CPD experiences for our staff. Many teachers who began their careers with us now serve in middle and senior leadership roles.

You will train through the 'School Direct' system, an employment-based route into teaching for high-quality graduates, leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and the option of a PGCE qualification. You will be employed by the school, and the training will take place on the school premises. Trainees will work alongside highly qualified and inspiring teachers to support teaching and learning.

Once qualified, we offer an ECT Programme, valuable mentoring, and support to progress into leadership roles and beyond.

Applicants must have:

  • a UK (or equivalent) subject-related degree (minimum 2:2) or subject-related A-Level (C and above);
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English at Grade C/4 or above;
  • the right to work in the UK.
