Job summary

St James's Practice in London is seeking a salaried GP to join a training practice serving over 7,000 patients. The post covers routine and urgent consultations in person and by phone, with safe prescribing and referrals, and offers a personal patient list option.

Applicants must have full GMC registration, be on the NHS Performers List, and hold appropriate medical indemnity. UK general practice experience and EMIS Web familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• CPD ongoing
• Experience in UK general practice
• Experience managing acute and chronic conditions
• Understanding of NHS general practice, clinical governance and patient safety

Responsibilities

• Hold an agreed patient list with partners
• Provide routine and urgent consultations face-to-face and by telephone
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions
• Prescribe generically and safely; arrange investigations and referrals
• Keep accurate, contemporaneous clinical records
• Take duty doctor shifts
• Collaborate with GPs, nurses, pharmacists and the MDT
• Take delegated responsibility for a QOF area
• Participate in clinical audit, quality improvement and meetings
• Support training of medical students and revalidation
