Job summary

Stuart Road Surgery is inviting applications for a salaried GP to join our expanding clinical team to deliver excellent patient care. Newly qualified GPs are welcome to apply, as are those requiring tier 2 sponsorship. We are considering applications for 6 sessions per week.

Salary will be competitive and dependent upon experience. Please include indication of salary expectations when applying. The post supports home visits and an on-call rota.

Qualifications

• Essential: Valid GMC registration.
• Desirable: Minor surgery or joint injections training.

Responsibilities

• Provide surgery consultations, telephone consultations and home visits.
• Check and sign repeat prescriptions.
• Deal with queries, both over the telephone and in person.
• Handle paperwork and correspondence within the practice guidelines.
• Make professional and autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems.
• Assess health care needs of patients with undifferentiated or undiagnosed problems.
• Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
• Develop care plans in line with disease management protocols.
• Provide counselling and health education.
• Admit or discharge patients and refer to other care providers as appropriate.
• Record consultation notes clearly and contemporaneously.
• Collect data for audit purposes.
• Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.

Education
