Job summary

Vine Medical Group in Waterlooville is seeking a Salaried GP to join our welcoming team. The post is for 5 sessions per week on a fixed-term basis for 10 months, with a mix of face-to-face clinics, home visits and same-day care.

You will work autonomously within a supportive multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality primary care to about 25,000 patients, with protected admin time, and opportunities for specialist interests.

Job description

An opportunity has arisen for a Salaried GP to join Vine Medical Group in Waterlooville. We are looking for an experienced GP to work 5 sessions per week on a fixed-term basis for 10 months. You will become part of a welcoming and supportive team caring for a patient population of around 25,000.

Our GPs typically undertake an average of 13 patient-facing appointments per session, each lasting 15 minutes, alongside 3 dedicated administration slots. This structure enables us to deliver the highest standards of safe, effective, and patient-centred care.

We have both face-to-face and on-line clinics, as well as home visits, same day care and routine appointments. Our GPs have admin time structured into the working day. Our same day care is run via a structured triage service managed by our care navigators with a GP Lead and supported by Paramedics, Nurses, and HCAs, as well as a Medicines Management Team led by clinical pharmacists.

Main duties of the job

To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

To see patients in accordance with the practice timetable, including consultations, visiting patients at home and same day care appointments.

To be able to work and travel between any of our sites and visit patients out in the community.

There is the option to participate in the delivery of Enhanced Access hours (normally Saturday morning sessions).

Job responsibilities

• Provide a full range of medical services as defined inthe core GMS contract, additional and enhanced services where appropriate
• To see patients in accordance with the practicetimetable, including consultations (in whatever format) and queries, visitingpatients at home (including care and nursing homes), as well as an equitableshare of same day care and extended access appointments. Checking and signingrepeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence ina timely fashion
• Making professional, autonomous decisions in relationto presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation
• Assessing the health care needs of patients withundifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
• Screening patients for disease risk factors and earlysigns of illness
• Developing care plans for health in consultation withpatients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
• Providing counselling and health education
• Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notesin a timely manner to agreed standards
• Accuraterecording of care provisiononto patient records ensuring correct coding of all procedures and informationusing approved methods and templates
