Hastings & Rother Healthcare is seeking a Salaried GP to work in St Leonards-on-Sea and Hastings. You will deliver acute, chronic and preventive care through face-to-face, telephone and digital consultations, with structured breaks and dedicated admin time.
You will manage results, prescriptions and referrals, participate in governance and practice meetings, and undertake home visits with support from the Enhanced Care team. Full GMC registration is required.
We care for around 26,000 patients across St Leonards-on-Sea and Hastings. Youll work a structured clinical day with protected breaks, catch-up slots and dedicated admin time, supported by regular clinical supervision and a friendly MDT.

No on-call; home visits: Low
Protected CPD: 10 percent of weekly hours plus 5 days study leave pro rata

Your Clinical Triage Role
Review patient requests alongside the clinical record, medicines, alerts and recent contacts.
Identify red flags and assess urgency risk, prioritising safely and escalating emergency care when required.
Choose the safest step: written or telephone advice, self-care, Pharmacy First or community services, telephone or f2f assessment.
Provide safety-netting and follow-up with accurate and defensible records in Rapid Health and EMIS Web.
Work with Triage Admin, reception and clinicians, giving clear instructions for bookings, actions and patient comms.
Contribute to audit, incident learning and pathway development to support safe and consistent triage decisions.
Your Wider GP Role
Deliver acute, chronic and preventive care through face-to-face, telephone and digital consultations.
Manage results, prescriptions, correspondence and referrals, and take part in clinical governance and practice meetings.
Undertake home and care-home visits with support from our Enhanced Care team.
Develop a specialist interest and contribute to shared learning across the team.

What you'll bring
Full GMC registration with a licence to practise, inclusion on GP Register and NHS England Medical Performers List. An enhanced DBS check will be required.
Recent clinical triage experience in UK general practice, urgent care or a comparable primary care setting.
Strong assessment, risk and prioritisation skills for undifferentiated presentations across all ages.
Confidence consulting remotely by telephone, digital messaging and written advice, with a clear understanding of when in-person assessment is needed.
Excellent communication, documentation and safety-netting, a collaborative and patient-centred approach, and safeguarding and clinical governance awareness.

As a Salaried GP you will be expected to undertake all the normalduties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.You will be responsible for face to face and telephone consultations withpatients presenting with a wide range of minor illness, urgent and same dayrequests for treatment and chronic disease management. You will provide carefor the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment,diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. You may also be required tocomplete home visits.
You will need to demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care,including assessment and diagnostic skills. You will need to prioritise andtriage the needs of the patients accordingly making any necessary referrals forinvestigations in the appropriate manner.
