Weaver Vale Practice in Runcorn is seeking a motivated GP to work 6 sessions weekly, with duties including a traditional patient-doctor relationship and continuity of care. You will be supported by a well-organised, multidisciplinary team and senior GPs, with opportunities to contribute to teaching and practice development.

The post is based at a large, purpose-built health centre near Halton General Hospital, offering a supportive environment and dynamic workload in primary care.

Qualifications

  • UK General Practice experience preferred.
  • Experience in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Knowledge of NHS systems and procedures (QOF).
  • Commitment to teaching and mentorship of juniors.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a busy clinical caseload in general practice.
  • Lead on key disease areas and contribute to service development.
  • Support continuity of care and telemedicine as appropriate.
  • Provide teaching and supervision within the practice network.

An opportunity has arisen for a doctor to work 6 sessions. Working days are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Therole is to cover 6 sessions.

Weaver Valepractice is a friendly well organised teaching practice with 8,500 patients.

Weare based in a large purpose-built health centre, shared with another generalpractice, adjacent to Halton General Hospital in Runcorn and in easy reach ofLiverpool, Manchester, and North Wales.

Main duties of the job

6sessions a week. (to include pro rata share of extended hours surgery). Days of work are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

6 weeks annual leave and 2 weeks study leave per year.

Traditionaldoctor patient relationship. Continuity of care is positively encouraged withfair share of admin.

Wellorganised multidisciplinary team conducting home visits, medication letters andqueries, and admin support to help minimise workload.

Well-beingpractice with full complement of allied health professionals to supportdelivery of care to patients.

Mentorshipfrom senior GPs

Fullcontraceptive services provided with an opportunity to develop these skills.

Opportunityto become involved in teaching and practice development.

Protectedtime each month to undertake some practice development eg GSF, child health,safeguarding, if interested .

Goodlinks with Runcorn PCN and other local practices.

CQCrated good with outstanding leadership

Job responsibilities

Main purposeof the role: to manage a busy and interestingclinical caseload. The appointee will also have the opportunity to take part inleading on key disease areas (monitoring trends in the Quality and OutcomesFramework, treatment, staff training andprescribing) and assist in developing appropriate healthcare services for adiverse, patient list.

Closely supported by the Weaver Vale Practiceclinical and management teams the post holder will act as one of the main GPswithin the practice working alongside the practice team but will also be partof a larger clinical team across an Weaver Vale Practice network ofpractices. The role will be at theforefront of delivering an innovative model of primary care service provisionoperating in partnership with other local Weaver Vale Practice practicesoffering integrated primary care services.

Person Specification
Experience
  • Recent experience of working in general practice in the UK
  • Commitment to and experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary and skill mixed team environment
  • Experience of working to achieve standards within the Quality and Outcome Framework (QOF)
  • Knowledge of NHS
  • Have an understanding of the needs of the vulnerable groups of patients that are registered
Qualifications
  • A medical practitioner whose name is included in the General Practitioner Register under article 10 of the General and Specialist Medical Practice Order 2003
  • Not subject to suspension under section 41A of the Medical Act 1983
  • Qualified General Practitioner (completed certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
  • Currently on the national performers list and not suspended from that list or from the medical register
  • CRB clearance
  • Have had an annual NHS appraisal
  • Evidence of further postgraduate educational activities in relevant fields
  • MRCGP
  • DCH
  • DRCOG
  • RCGP Substance Misuse Certificate Level 1 or 2
  • F2 supervisor training/teaching diploma (this is essential for HDS)
  • DFSRFH & Competence in Coil insertion
  • Evidence of CPD activities
  • Minor surgery skills
  • Evidence of independent working in General Practice
  • Experience of supporting service change
  • Teaching of GP Reg/F2/Medical students/Nursing students
  • Evidence of participation in QOF
  • Evidence of participation in Audit
