Job summary

Marine Resources Recruitment Ltd on behalf of a well-established sailing club in the North of England is seeking a Sailing Operations Manager. This hands-on role leads day-to-day sailing and waterfront operations, maintains safety equipment, and supports events.

You will work with staff, volunteers and race officials to deliver a safe, professional sailing experience. The role runs March–December with winter focus on maintenance and planning; some flexibility for hours or contractor arrangements

Qualifications

• Experience in sailing clubs or watersports environments.
• Able to lead operations with volunteers and staff.
• Strong focus on safety and customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the safe and efficient delivery of day-to-day sailing and waterfront operations.
• Prepare and maintain safety boats, engines, trailers and launching equipment.
• Ensure appropriate water-safety arrangements are in place before organised activities begin.
• Act as the designated Water Safety Lead for selected evening racing, weekend events and major club activities when required.
• Support Race Officers, race teams, instructors, volunteers and members with the safe and effective delivery of activities.
• Coordinate planned maintenance for safety boats, launching equipment and other waterfront assets.
• Assist with cruiser launch and recovery operations and provide practical support during regattas and other major events.
• Take on wider operational or Duty Manager responsibilities during key events when required.
• Work closely with the General Manager to support the club's daily operation and continued development.
