Job summary

Frazer-Nash Consultancy is hiring a Safety-Related Electronics and Embedded Software Engineer to deliver electronic hardware and embedded software for high-integrity applications. The role blends hands-on engineering with technical coordination across the product lifecycle, from requirements through design, verification, and in-service support.

You will lead architecture design, review safety requirements, and engage with customers to inform decisions.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in Electronic Engineering, Embedded Systems, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience delivering electronics and embedded software in safety-related, high-integrity or regulated environments.
• Practical understanding of hardware-software interaction within a system.
• Experience with requirements capture, decomposition, traceability and verification planning.
• Knowledge of safety lifecycle principles and assurance evidence.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture level design for systems with embedded electronics, firmware and software.
• Review circuit schematics or software source code where needed.
• Translate safety needs into clear product, hardware and software requirements with acceptance criteria and traceability.
• Lead allocation of safety requirements across electronics, firmware and software.
• Conduct hazard analysis, risk assessment, FMEA/FMECA, fault-tree analysis, and develop safety arguments.
