Job summary

Frazer-Nash Consultancy seeks an Experienced C&I and Functional Safety Consultant to lead projects across sectors from nuclear to energy storage. You will design and implement process control systems, safety interfaces and deliver electrical reports and drawings with strong client interaction.

You will mentor engineers, demonstrate technical leadership, and drive delivery on time and budget. The role offers hybrid working across multiple offices in the UK and client sites.

Qualifications

• Mandatory MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of process control systems and EC&I documents (SLDs, P&IDs, BCDs, schematics).
• Experience leading safety-critical solutions aligned with IEC 61508/61511, ISO 13849, DO-178/DO-254.
• Experience with ISO 9001 requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, mentoring ability, and technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead C&I projects from concept through commissioning.
• Design novel process control systems and safety interfaces.
• Deliver innovation projects from concept to acceptance.
• Oversee production, verification and approval of electrical reports, specifications, and drawings.
• Lead project teams to deliver on time and budget.
• Engage with clients to define requirements, negotiate contracts and report risk.
