Job summary

Itec is seeking a Designated Safeguarding Lead to champion safeguarding, prevent and child protection across all provisions. This full-time, onsite role in Cardiff will lead policy updates, staff training, and inter-agency coordination to safeguard learners.

You will maintain up-to-date safeguarding records, liaise with HR, and report to senior management, ensuring compliance with statutory guidance and local authority requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience developing relationships with outside agencies and multi-agency working.
• Experience creating and maintaining GDPR compliant safeguarding records.
• Experience with safeguarding and prevent procedures and reporting.
• Currently qualified as a Designated Safeguarding Lead.
• Recent safeguarding and prevent update training.
• Understanding of legislation, policy, guidance and safeguarding practice.
• Ability to interpret complex safeguarding documents.

Responsibilities

• Develop and promote an effective safeguarding culture across all provisions.
• Lead responsibility for safeguarding, prevent and child protection matters.
• Support staff in dealing with safeguarding concerns and referrals.
• Maintain detailed, accurate, secure safeguarding records.
• Provide regular reports to Senior Management and Board.
• Coordinate training sessions on safeguarding and referral processes.
• Liaise with HR on staff training needs in safeguarding and well-being.
• Collaborate with external agencies and multi-agency partners as required.
