Job summary

The Milton Keynes Academy, part of Creative Education Trust, is seeking a dedicated Safeguarding Officer to protect and support students and to work closely with staff, families and external agencies to achieve the best outcomes. You will engage in safeguarding responsibilities with professionalism, integrity, and a child-centered approach.

The role requires experience with safeguarding in education, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information responsibly.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in education, social care, youth work or similar settings.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection legislation and best practice.
• Experience supporting vulnerable or disadvantaged children and young people.
• Ability to build positive, professional relationships with students, parents, colleagues and external agencies.

Job Title: Safeguarding Officer

Location: The Milton Keynes Academy

Salary: £31, - £36, per annum (dependent upon experience)

£26,.22 - £ 31,.29 per annum (actual, pro-rata)

Contract Type: Permanent (Term time only plus 2 weeks)

Working Pattern: Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 16:00pm & Friday 08:00am – 15:30pm

About You:

The Milton Keynes Academy are seeking a dedicated, compassionate and proactive Safeguarding Officer to join our team at Milton Keynes Academy. You will be committed to ensuring that every student feels safe, supported and able to thrive, while working collaboratively with staff, families and external agencies to achieve the best outcomes for young people. You will have a strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities, excellent communication skills and the ability to respond calmly and effectively to challenging situations.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working with young people in education, social care, youth work, community services or a similar setting.
• A sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection legislation, procedures and best practice.
