Job summary

Weavers Academy, part of Creative Education Trust in Wellingborough, is seeking a dedicated Safeguarding Officer to support student welfare and safe school practices. You will work with staff, families and external partners to ensure safeguarding procedures are followed, provide early intervention, and uphold a culture where every child feels safe, heard and valued.

The role requires knowledge of safeguarding legislation (KCSIE), excellent communication skills, and the ability to work

• Experience with children, young people or families in related settings

• Strong communication for multi‑agency work

Working Pattern: 37 hours, 41 weeks

About You:

Weavers Academy are seeking a compassionate and proactive individual to join our safeguarding team. You will be committed to supporting young people, confident in building positive relationships with students and families, and motivated by the opportunity to make a lasting impact. Working closely with colleagues and external partners, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers and achieve success.

Our Ideal candidate will have:

• Good general education, including GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English
• Evidence of working with children, young people, and/or families in an education, social care, community, or youth setting
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance (including KCSIE), and child protection procedures
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills suited to multi-agency work

Our Safeguarding Team is at the heart of student wellbeing at Weavers Academy, working collaboratively to ensure every student is safe, supported, and able to thrive. The team works closely with pastoral staff, families, and external agencies to provide early intervention, effective support, and robust safeguarding practices across the academy. As part of this dedicated team, you will help create a culture where student welfare is everyone's priority.
