Job summary

The Milton Keynes Academy is seeking a dedicated Safeguarding Officer to join our team at Milton Keynes Academy. Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in education, social care, youth work or similar settings.
• Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection legislation, procedures and best practice.
• Experience supporting vulnerable or disadvantaged children and young people.
• Ability to build positive professional relationships with students, parents/carers, colleagues and external agencies.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to maintain accurate, confidential records.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with sensitivity to information handling.
• Experience managing difficult conversations and de-escalation.
• Proactive, resilient and solution-focused approach to supporting students and families.
• Friendly, approachable manner combined with tact and professionalism.
