Job summary

A2Dominion is seeking a dedicated Safeguarding Officer to join our central Safeguarding team and support customers and colleagues across the organisation. You will assess safeguarding cases, provide guidance, and ensure timely referrals to statutory services while upholding our safeguarding policies.

You will balance case management with training, policy development, and maintaining records, working closely with external partners to promote best practice and effective safeguarding delivery

Qualifications

  • At least three years' safeguarding experience and supporting people's wellbeing.
  • Experience with domestic abuse and mitigating risk for victims.
  • Confident managing safeguarding concerns and completing documentation including risk assessments.
  • Experience reviewing or supporting policy/procedure development.
  • Able to provide safeguarding guidance to colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable in a busy environment with prescribed timescales.
  • Experience delivering safeguarding training to diverse audiences.

Job description

Are you an experienced safeguarding professional who is passionate about protecting people from harm?Join us as a

Safeguarding Officerand play a key role in supporting customers and colleagues across A2Dominion.

Working as part of our central Safeguarding team, you'll provide advice, guidance and support on safeguarding concerns, acting as a key point of contact for colleagues across the organisation. You'll assess and manage safeguarding cases, support risk assessments and make timely referrals to statutory services and other agencies to help ensure customers receive the right support.

You'll balance case management and maintaining accurate records with providing safeguarding advice, supporting training and awareness activities, and working closely with colleagues and external partners. You'll also play an important role in promoting best practice and helping to ensure safeguarding policies, procedures and approaches are implemented effectively across the organisation.

We're looking for someone with strong safeguarding experience, including experience of supporting people facing challenging circumstances and managing safeguarding risks. You'll be a confident communicator, comfortable providing advice and guidance to colleagues at all levels and building effective relationships with customers, managers and external agencies.

A Standard DBS check is required for this role.

More About You
  • At least three years' experience in safeguarding and supporting people's wellbeing, including providing advice, coaching and influencing others
  • A very good understanding of domestic abuse and experience of supporting victims to mitigate risk
  • Confident managing safeguarding concerns and completing relevant documentation, including risk assessments
  • Experience of reviewing or supporting the development of policies and procedures
  • Able to provide advice, guidance and safeguarding support to colleagues and other stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in a busy environment, managing challenging situations and working to prescribed timescales
  • Skilled in delivering safeguarding training or briefings to a range of audiences and working with external agencies and partners
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with experience of engaging effectively with staff, managers and customers
  • A good understanding of safeguarding within a housing association or similar environment
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English (Grades A*–C)
  • A degree-level or equivalent professional qualification would be desirable
  • A current clean driving licence would also be advantageous
