Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc in Derby is seeking a Planning & Control Manager to lead S&OP and S&OE transformation for the XWB Value Stream on a secondment through December 2027. You will partner with central teams, business leads and external consultants to design, implement and embed new planning and execution capabilities.

The role focuses on building MVPs, APS deployment, data foundations and a robust operating model that links strategic planning with near-term delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading SIOP, S&OP and/or S&O in a manufacturing or complex operational environment.
• Experience leading transformation, continuous-improvement or integration activity across multiple functions and business areas.
• Strong understanding of demand-and-supply balancing, operational planning, gated execution processes and structured escalation.
• Expertise in planning tools within ERP environments, such as MRP, and familiarity with Advanced Planning Systems and scenario modelling.
• Proficiency in data analysis and management, including executive data sets, KPI design, trend analysis and root-cause insight.
• Ability to define and embed operating models, governance, meeting charters, accountabilities and decision rights using RACI and/or RAPID approaches.
• Robust organisational, analytical, programme-management and decision-making capability, including sprint-based delivery and action tracking.
• Demonstrated leadership presence and the ability to influence senior stakeholders within a matrix organisation.
• Experience creating executive-level presentations and communicating complex operational and business topics clearly.

Responsibilities

• Shape and drive an integrated planning and execution transformation roadmap for the XWB Value Stream, balancing tactical delivery with the longer-term operating model.
• Act as the XWB Value Stream transformation and integration lead, coordinating with central teams, business leads and external partners to design, implement and embed changes.
• Develop process capabilities, tactical MVPs, digital solutions and data strategy, including deployment and optimisation of APS and scenario-planning capability.
• S&O operating model and governance: Define and embed the Value Stream contribution to the S&O operating model, including cross-business interfaces, governance levels, meeting charters, information flow, escalation routes and links to financial forecasting.
• Operational execution and intervention: Work with Fleet Management, Value Stream, Aftermarket Operations, Procurement, Engineering and Manufacturing teams to identify and resolve near-term demand, supply, capacity and execution imbalances.
• Data, MI and continuous improvement: Define, develop and embed the Value Stream S&O KPI and management-information suite, with clear ownership, executive data sources, governance forums and connectivity between measures.
• Stakeholder leadership: Build trusted cross-functional relationships and influence senior stakeholders across Fleet Management, Central Planning, Portfolio Planning, Aftermarket Operations, Procurement, Engineering, Value Streams and Manufacturing Units.
• Prepare concise executive-level updates, recommendations and decision material for Value Stream reviews.
