Job summary

Flowdesk seeks a hands-on Rust engineer for its High-Frequency Trading team to own order management, feed handling, and strategy execution. You will work on low-latency components, including custom protocol parsing and kernel-bypass networking, in a production environment with direct ownership of live trading systems.

You will collaborate across engineering, trading, and operations, applying deep networking, parsing, and latency optimisation skills to deliver high-performance infrastructure used

Qualifications

• Direct, hands-on experience building OMS, feed handlers, and/or strategy logic in a production environment.
• Strong Rust skills with both async and non-async experience valued.
• Low-level networking: socket programming, protocol implementation, latency-aware design.
• Experience writing fast parsing code for binary protocols and custom formats.
• FIX protocol and WebSocket connectivity in production.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and state synchronization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain OMS, feed handlers, and strategy logic in production environments.
• Design and optimize feed handling and market data processing for high throughput.
• Implement strategy logic and integrate with execution infrastructure.
• Develop low-level networking code including protocol parsing and socket management.
• Build fast parsing pipelines for market data and order flow.
• Ensure reliable exchange connectivity across FIX, WebSocket, and proprietary protocols.
• Perform latency profiling, benchmarking, and continuous performance improvements.
