Job summary

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust in Carlisle is seeking a dynamic Locum Consultant gastroenterologist to join our unified GI service across north Cumbria. The role supports endoscopy, inpatient and outpatient care within Cumberland Infirmary and West Cumberland Hospital.

The post is a 12-month fixed term with a base of 10 sessions per week and flexible working options; relocation assistance may be available and GMC MRCP UK qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• Clinical experience and competence in gastroenterology.
• Ability to provide therapeutic endoscopy for GI bleeding.
• Excellent communication skills with patients, colleagues and managers.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical gastroenterology services across the North Cumbria GI service.
• Participate in endoscopy and inpatient/outpatient care within the trust.
• Contribute to the development of the GI service and governance processes.
