Job summary

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Consultant in Gastroenterology to join our eight-strong team at Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Lancaster. The post is permanent, full-time (10 sessions per week) with a 24/7 GI bleed service and cross-site endoscopy commitments.

Applicants must hold GMC registration with a licence to practice and entry on the Specialist Register or be within six months of CCT.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practice and entry on Specialist Register or within six months of CCT.
• UK gastroenterology training with CCT or CESR within six months of interview.
• JAG accreditation for upper and lower GI endoscopy.
• MD/PhD or higher degree.
• Membership of professional societies.

Responsibilities

• Read Job Description and Person Specification in supporting documents.
• Work across Royal Lancaster Infirmary and cross-site GI sessions.
• Provide 24/7 GI bleeding coverage as per rota.
• Contribute to teaching and supervision of trainees.

Education

MRCP or equivalent

Gastroenterology CCT

GMC registration with a licence to practice

JAG accreditation for endoscopy
