Job summary

Carpenters Group is seeking a capable legal support professional to assist in managing a caseload of MOJ Part 8 and Part 7 RTA claims. The role focuses on case progression, liability assessment, and contributing to settlements, while supporting litigation processes to optimise outcomes for clients and the firm.

Applicants with bike-related claims experience or pruchasing knowledge of CPR and case law will be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience handling MOJ/Part 8 and Part 7 RTA claims is advantageous.
• Suitable for a non-qualified legal advisor or paralegal with RTA claims experience.
• Solid knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules (CPR), relevant legislation and case law.
• Proficient with case management systems and MS Office applications.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing a caseload of MOJ (Part 8) and Part 7 cases to support high-quality claims handling and client outcomes.
• Assist in liability and quantum assessment: review medical reports, apply case law, draft schedules of special damages, and evaluate compensation.
• Support settlements with a practical, commercial approach, advising clients on litigation and cost risks.
• Liaise with medical agencies, experts, insurers and other stakeholders to progress cases efficiently; may attend court hearings.
• Support progression of cases and progress against performance targets (profit costs, case issuance, settlements).
• Other tasks as required by the business.
