As an RSM Assistant Technician, you will work under the direction of the Shift Supervisor to ensure all tasks are carried out safely, to a high standard, on time, and accurately recorded in the reporting system (XVPlus).
Your responsibilities will include supporting both planned and reactive maintenance activities, capturing any arising work, and promoting a strong safety culture. You will contribute to high performance standards by guiding and supporting team members, encouraging collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Maintaining a safe working environment is key—reporting any safety concerns or equipment defects promptly through the appropriate channels and in line with company procedures.
About You
You are a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a strong interest in railway maintenance. As an Assistant Rolling Stock Technician, you thrive in a team environment, supporting planned and reactive maintenance, diagnosing faults, and assisting with effective repairs.
You take pride in thorough data capture and accurate reporting, ensuring that all work is well documented and issues are addressed quickly. You’re committed to learning and continuously improving your knowledge of rolling stock, fault diagnosis, and scheduled tram maintenance.
Working under the guidance of supervisors and Lead Technicians, you follow instructions carefully, assist with inspections, and contribute to data accuracy and compliance.
Safety is always your priority—you report concerns responsibly and help maintain a safe, efficient workspace. You ensure tools and equipment are in good working condition, follow stores and stock processes, and are open to sharing ideas for improvement.
