The Forward Trust is recruiting a Rough Sleeper Recovery Worker in Canterbury to support adults experiencing homelessness and substance misuse. You will work with outreach colleagues to help individuals access treatment, housing and healthcare, applying harm reduction and recovery‑oriented approaches.

You will manage a small caseload of highly complex needs, deliver tailored, person‑centred support and build strong partnerships with the healthcare system, Probation and housing services to

Qualifications

• Experience in substance misuse services and working with people experiencing homelessness.
• Ability to complete comprehensive assessments and develop risk management plans.
• Knowledge of harm reduction approaches and delivering structured interventions.
• Group-work delivery and creating inclusive, supportive environments.
• Motivational interviewing used to engage individuals in change.

Responsabilités

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop SMART care plans.
• Provide harm reduction advice and one-to-one interventions.
• Deliver group-work sessions to promote engagement and reduce risks.
• Collaborate with outreach workers and partner agencies to access treatment services.
