Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is seeking a Rotational Pharmacy Assistant to gain experience across Dispensary, Ward services, Stores and Aseptic units. You will undertake training to obtain a QCF Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or be a qualified QCF Level 2 Pharmacy Assistant seeking a change.

Applicants should be organised, communicative and able to work in a busy team; sponsorship is not available and immunisation/vaccination reporting will be required.

Responsibilities

• Support the supply of pharmaceuticals including controlled drugs, aseptically prepared products and cytotoxics to patients, wards and departments.
• Carry out requisitioning, distribution and receipt of stock in all pharmacy departments and wards.
• Store and retrieve medication using automated robots within the pharmacy department.
• Receive work requests for patients and wards and inform on dispatch and waiting times; handle basic queries.
• Keep work areas clean and tidy; adhere to cleaning and hygiene procedures; ensure stock rotation.
• Return excess stock from wards to pharmacy stock following SOPs.
• Assist in basic clerical duties including filing and photocopying.
• Work flexibly across all pharmacy departments including Rugby St Cross.
• Participate in training and personal development activities.
• Participate in Personal Development Reviews and achieve objectives.
• Rotate through Dispensary, Ward services, Stores and Aseptic units.
